Excellent take on a puzzle platformer. While it wasn't too difficult overall, some areas had me thinking extra hard on how to approach it. Thanks for this - I had a lot of fun!

Very good game. It just needs a boss for a proper ending. Maybe an enemy that you can only kill by dropping on him from above? Or by solving some puzzle first.
Great gameplay but pretty poor flow. Almost stopped a few times because there were things I didn't know the game was capable of. A good example is the spike pits; there is no reason to assume they're harmless when walked over but harmful when fallen on, and even less reason to believe they can be fallen on when crouching but only inside a wall. It feels like I'm not learning how the game works so much as finding out the designer's bizarre idiosyncrasies.
Anyway, that's just about the rebound the average player would have on first playthrough. All those conditions to movement/traversal make the puzzles extremely fun and perfectly challenging.
fyi, the spike interactions, like most of the game's mechanics, mimic the way they are implemented in jordan mechner's "prince of persia" (1989), as indicated by the title of this game. if you found the design interesting, i'm sure it would be worth your time to check out one of one of the most influential games of its era. the sequel prince of persia 2: the shadow and the flame is a fascinating and evocative successor.
At the risk of sounding severely autistic, I actually went "What a strange choice. Is it a holdover from Prince of Persia? Since this is a retro game, probably the first one?" and went and played Prince of Persia 1989 for 15 minutes to check, and took from it the game is bad and the controls are bad and no matter how may times I tried I could not find any similarity to the controls of this significantly better game (or even tell if it's a skill issue or a controls issue that was causing my problems), so I just thought "okay, maybe it's not from Prince of Persia?" because the alternative meant playing more of Prince of Persia until I was sure. Moving onto Prince of Persia 2 instead of making myself mad would have been the common sense option, huh...
With Prince of Prussia I thought "this is clearly some sort of skill issue and the design not connecting with me" as soon as I hit a roadblock, and I was motivated to keep throwing myself at the problem until the logic finally connected, and was rewarded with the game opening like a beautiful flower for me. Drastically different experiences for sure
I like the game, but I somewhat disliked that if you do not perform the exactly correct forward jump towards the enemy, the enemy kills you instead of you killing him. Everything else works perfect.
it took me many levels to figure out that jumping aint what kills them. like when you for the first time stand next to an enemy and literally cant get far enough away to jump him
Is there a sneaky Nazi somewhere? I've done it twice with 60 of 61, on second one I was trying to find and still failed. :-) Maybe a table o' Nazi locations
Really excellent work. This game does a thing that I really enjoy, which is distill a classic game or genre of games down to the basics. Games like this are the haiku of their medium. One of the best kinds of game to find on Pico-8.
Cute. Died a few times to begin with, but once I figured out how everything works I had no trouble stabbing all 61 of the buggers on my first play through. Fun while it lasted, and didn't outstay its welcome.
The knife is in the first level. The trick is that spikes don't kill you if you touch them from the sides or gently drop down on them (while standing on a ledge next to a spike pit, press down and jump). Once you get it, you can kill Nazi fuckheads by walking into them from behind or dropping from above.

excellent short stealth game. might be worth describing the controls in the description, since trial-and-error seems to be turning a lot of ppl away.
This game lets me live out my happiest dreams
This is awesome.

not gonna lie being hitler kinda woulda been fun
Castle Wolfenstein in the style Prince of Persia ^^'
I like that it only has one button more than the original Prince of Persia.

Can't even hit the New Game button :/
Press X or C on your keyboard. (I forgot which one)
I keep getting a weird search at the bottom of my screen, as if it's searching for ZZZ and CCC... Unplayable until I find a way to shut that off.
Hm that's weird, I don't know how to help with that.

super sweet! never played prince of persia so it took me a while to get used to the controls, but it's lots of fun :)
Oh my God! I love this so much!
that moment you take down the first enemy and what the player character says! brilliant!!!
fun and interesting game
So interesting game, i played on controller. I like it and waiting the new game or continue !
Really good!
great game
That fall on the second level to the pit below because it was off screen! You are sneaky.
This is like the most fun i've ever had in such a minimalistic setup. Love the sfx too!
how do i jump
I use 'z' to jump horizontally, up and z to jump up. If you're on the edge of a platform you can use down and z to drop down

You don't have to jump towards enemies. Just walk towards them, you'll stab them automatically.

This game is the best because you kill nazis.
Man, I missed 1 of those bastards
(I guess you gotta leave someone alive to send a message, eh?)
Punching Nazis is a slippery slope.
And I love water slides.
made my day lol thank you
Bless you for having a "fall to your death on top of a nazi" animation that also kills the target- very funny
....but only if the fall height aint too big
Amazing game, idea, level design... I'm in love with this one and I just can hope there will be someday an extended version.
61 less nazis to worry about.
Great gameplay, great aesthetics, and you kill nazis. Trifecta.
Man, that's just brilliant! Great game, 61 Nazis out of 61!
Is there a sneaky Nazi somewhere? I've done it twice with 60 of 61, on second one I was trying to find and still failed. :-) Maybe a table o' Nazi locations
There's a level where you can go up almost from the beggining but it is not required. That's the most hidden nazi I can think of.
To be honest, I didn't even try to find all the Nazis, I just played the game once )
figuring out the controls was kinda annoying at the start but once I got the hang of it I really enjoyed the game
Hold down and then jump
weird choice if you ask me.
as if him crouching before falling down changes much about thta height difference...
if you ever drop down from a ledge irl, you will find that it does! it reduces the distance you fall by your entire height
Very nice and fun!! :D
That was quick but quite satisfying. Great work man, especially with the Level Design!
Shoutouts to all the nazis staring blankly at a grate wall in front of their face
Really excellent work. This game does a thing that I really enjoy, which is distill a classic game or genre of games down to the basics. Games like this are the haiku of their medium. One of the best kinds of game to find on Pico-8.
I think 43 is the lowest possible number of nazis. Some of them are quite hard to avoid.
Got 42 😇
(There's a nazi you can avoid if you directly fall on the exit, it'll kill you but hey, you're in the next level 👍).
well if you're allowed to cheat death that way you can get it down to 41
Why would you go for the lowest possible nazis?
Because it's actually more difficult than getting all the nazis. It's a puzzle.
I know, it was a pun about how the more nazis are dead, the better.
Realy well
Cute. Died a few times to begin with, but once I figured out how everything works I had no trouble stabbing all 61 of the buggers on my first play through. Fun while it lasted, and didn't outstay its welcome.
How to stab?

lol thx
Nazis... I hate those guys.
Good game. Love the art style. A bit too much trial and error for me, but I did beat four levels I think.
We've got a lot of them right now!
Interesting... will check on later.
